Cruelty Cases
The Rescue division of the Humane Society of Statesboro-Bulloch County works to find homes for the many abandoned animals in our region. Animals find their way into our rescue division in a variety of ways. We work closely with the Bulloch County Animal Shelter to move adoptable animals into rescue when their time is up at the shelter. Animals that come into rescue receive veterinary care, are spayed or neutered, and live in foster homes until a forever home can be found.

Adoption fees charged for the animals help to offset the cost of their care, but rarely does it cover the entire cost of veterinary services, food, bedding, etc.

If you find an abandoned or stray animal please call the Bulloch County Animal Control (912)764-4529. We are a volunteer organization and are not equipped or staffed to handle these animals. We will work with the shelter to find homes & care for as many animals as possible after they have been to the shelter. Additionally, going to the shelter allows owners of a lost pet the opportunity to find them.
