There are many ways you can volunteer and help animals in need. You can join us, become a member and help us in our mission. Even if you are not a member you can still help an animal in need. Things listed below are just a few things you can do to become more involved, if you feel you can help in any other way please contact us. Thank you for all you do.
Become a foster family
We are always in need of good foster homes for our animals. If you are interested in fostering please contact us. You will need to fill out a foster application followed by an interview. After that we will pair you with an animal that needs you.
Help at adoptions & other events
The Humane Society has adoption events for our animals every other week at Petco. We also attend a plethora of other events that help raise awareness for our cause and we need qualified volunteers to help at these events which may include fairs, concerts, parades, etc. These volunteers will need to go through an orientation so they will be able answer questions and give accurate details to the public.
Help care for our local cats at Petco
We have adoptable cats at Petco that need volunteers to visit them on a daily basis to clean their habitats as well as interact with them. Volunteers will need to go through an orientation to fully understand policy and procedures.
Raise awareness for spay & neuter
volunteers will help get the word out about our low cost spay & neuter programs which you can read more about here.
Help out at ReTails
ReTails is our thrift shop which helps raise funds for the Humane Society through the sale of generously donated items from the community. We can always use more helping hands. You can also help by coming by and shopping. We are located at 105 N. College Street here in Statesbroro.
