We Need Your Help!

The activities of The Humane Society of Statesboro & Bulloch County, Inc., have increased in recent years and we need more active volunteers to help.  We could use your time and talents in the effort to save our community animals. Could you volunteer a few hours a month to help with our thrift store, adoption events, animal rescue program or spay/neuter program? There is something to fit everyone’s ability or interest.  

Do you prefer working directly with animals?  Here are some ways to make a big difference:

·         Care for the foster cats at Petco.  It takes less than one hour a visit.

·         Help transport animals to other no-kill shelters.

·         Assist with set up and take down of our bi-monthly adoption events.

·         Drive foster pets to their veterinarian appointments.

·         Assist with the spay/neuter clinic’s weekly transport visits.

·         Foster a pet for a limited time.

Do you prefer working with the public or educating our community?

·         Our thrift shop is one of the ways we fund our life-saving activities.  Could you help customers or sort through our donated treasures a couple hours a week?

·         Do you have a truck?  We need volunteers to pick up large donations for the thrift store.

·         Do you enjoy the Saturday Farmer’s Market?  Could you sit at our info table there?

·         Would you be willing to speak to student and community groups on our behalf?

Do you prefer volunteering from home? 

·         We need people for our phone answering rotation.  We will train you.

·         Like us on Facebook and share our message with your friends.

·         Are you good with computers?  Could you help enhance our online presence?

·         Are you an organized person? Please share in our paperwork!

  Do you enjoy a leadership role? We need new ideas to spearhead our efforts. 

·         Can you help develop new fundraising ideas?

·         Could you help maximize our publicity efforts?

·         Do you know ways we could increase our active membership?

·         Are you interested in chairing one of our committees?

We can be more effective and save more animals with your help.
